honey vanilla syrup

One thing I really focus on when it comes to my diet — cutting out processed foods. Whenever possible, I want the more naturally occurring ingredient available.

Processed sugar is demonized in the health/wellness space — and for good reason! Refined sugars cause nothing but destruction on our bodies. It increases your risk of cardiovascular issues, obesity, hormone disruption, chronic inflammation, etc, etc, etc.

Like all things, I am more than happy to indulge in some processed sugar in moderation. But my coffee is a daily ritual.. I am not willing to drink it in moderation! And I like it with cream and sweetener! Enter: my vanilla bean honey syrup.

I am a HUGE fan of honey. I love it in my coffee, in my dressings, in my baking recipes, in my skincare, drizzled on top of my pizza, you name it. I prioritize buying a certified organic, raw honey. Preferably local. Not sprayed with glyphosates. Perfection.

Honey is more than just a natural sweetener—it offers a variety of health benefits as well. Rich in antioxidants, honey helps fight oxidative stress and may reduce inflammation in the body. It also has antibacterial and antimicrobial properties, which can aid in wound healing and soothe a sore throat. Additionally, honey is a great source of natural energy, providing a quick boost without the crash often associated with refined sugars. With its ability to support digestive health and its soothing qualities for coughs and colds, honey is a versatile, nourishing addition to any diet.

This recipe is so simple and customizable. Equal parts honey and water melt together to make a simple syrup. I add vanilla bean paste for flavor. You can add whatever you like to flavor your drinks. Perfect for hot coffees, iced coffees, matchas, cocktails, parfaits, smoothies, and so much more. If you want to really take it up a notch, store your vanilla bean honey syrup in a cute glass decanter — you’ll feel like you’re ordering at a fancy cafe every morning.
